Charity party to beat the bluesIt’s the start of the year, and that can only mean one thing: Everyone’s feeling a bit run down, a little bit poorly and is fed up of being cold.  Yep, a pandemic is sweeping the national and people everywhere are succumbing to severe cases of the January blues.

So how can you go about beating the blues and lifting the spirits?

I don’t have a definitive answer to that.  I find that despite getting down the gym, making an effort to eat lots of fresh fruit and veg and generally taking better care of myself, I still always have a case of the blahs come the new year.

But, I do have one solution: A beat the blues bash to blast the blues away.

And, of course, it’s another opportunity for me to raise some pennies to help kids with cancer and leukaemia to enjoy life.  At the end of January my fella and I will once again be opening our doors to welcome one and all into our house for cake.  For a fee of course.

We’ll be spreading a little happiness in a whole host of ways:

  • Helping everyone to relive their childhood with silly school fair games like lucky dip, guess the number of sweets in the jar
  • Setting up dance battles on the Kinect
  • Providing copious amounts of cake
  • Selling beautiful valentines gifts
  • … and giving everyone the warm fuzzy feeling of giving to a good cause!

Fingers crossed that we’ll raise a whole load of cash for CLIC Sargent as we help all our friends to overcome the new year blues!  What makes you happy when you’re feeling blue?
