So far I’ve been seeking out sponsorship to collect the cash I need for my charity trek … And my friends, family and friends of friends have been amazing and I’ve already raised over £1,000 for CLIC Sargent.

But, there’s still more to be done.  My target may be £3,000, but I want to give as much as possible to the cause, so it’s time to kick it up a notch and do some serious fundraising.  And my hairdresser told me about an idea that I think just might be the best way to raise cash ever:

Selling Krispy Kreme doughnuts.

The idea has had me – and several friends – super excited at the thought of eating doughnuts for a worthy cause.  My mum was more blasé about the whole thing – selling the tasty baked goods was apparently the way to get cash for charity where she grew up (Alabama, USA).  But over this side of the Atlantic it’s all new.

In short, the company offers good causes the chance to purchase their doughnuts for cheap, then sell them on, with the profits going to charity.  Read more about raising dough (geddit?) on the Krispy Kremes website.

So what do you reckon?  Is this the best fundraising idea ever?  Have you got a better one to share?
